Little 9 yr old Headache

My little guy had a really bad headache. He got nailed in the head with a baseball. Then his brothers always wrestle him.  So he was crying.  I told him to lay down and I would rub his head.  I used DeepBlue essential oil on his fore head and just rubbed his head for a little while. I love DeepBlue for so many reasons, but hands down it is because I can sit down from my busy mommyness and rub his head. In the past I would of just gave him something. Now I can start with oils and then if the problem is more severe I can move to other things.
DeepBlue for me calms my nerves also. Something in it, maybe the Blue Tansy or the Helichrysum.  Helichrysum is said to reduce inflammation in the meninges of the brain. On a spiritual side, it may help one let go of angry feeling that prevent one from forgiving and moving forward.  Hmmmm makes one think.......

Bondo

My husband is a Taxidermist. He uses bondo which I cannot stand. It gives me an instant headache. Well, I was cleaning up the living room and saw something that looked liked toothpaste on the floor. I started trying to get it up.  It was bondo. Yuck! I almost died.  He doesn't do taxidermy in the house but must of been looking at some horn. He is in love.  Soooo...it was stuck all over my fingers and it smelt terrible.  I thought "I should use Lemon, they say it takes care of stuff like this".  So I did.  It totally worked. I dropped a little bit on my fingers and the bondo instantly was removed.  I washed in the sink. The most amazing thing is the smell was even gone. I am so happy. Yes, mikel was is trouble but with a happy ending. love him!

Remember to use lemon in your water everyday, very detoxifying.  Also put it on your babies feet to help them stay well.
All citrus oils help with anxiety and depression. Use Lime, Grapefruit, Orange, Citrus Bliss etc. to really boost your mood.
Make your own blend. I am calling it the 3-5 bend. Because we all know that those are the hardest hours of the day when you have a house full of children with lots of homework, activities and dinner to prepare.

The bug hit US!

My kids have been sick, just so you know kids still get sick using oils.  The difference is I have tools to help them get well sooner or help them with their symptoms while sick. I have been having them lick the OnGuard off the back of their hands for the throat infection. For coughing and runny nose, I use Breathe in the diffuser and on their feet, necks and rub into their sinuses with a carrier oil. (Careful around the eyes)  The Peppermint for headaches and fevers.  Used the Digestzen for the tummy aches taken internally and rubbed on belly and feet. It is so great to be able to use these and have them help.  I have really noticed that I have to be vigilant with them. Keep the oils going to fight this yucky bug they have.  Even my well children get doses of On-Guard to support their immune system.

Fever BABY!

Last week my l0 month old was sick.  She would be fine during the day then at night she would get a fever. I new that Peppermint was for fever but I wanted to really know. Well I put it on her feet and hair line (far away from eyes!!!). I rubbed it on her back and chest, then made sure she couldn't touch any of those places. She would be lathargic before and then get perked up after. It was awesome.  I treated the fever agressively and applied the oils every 40 minish. I also would apply lavender. She loved the touching.  When I read about Peppermint for fevers it said that it reduced the fever 2-5 degrees. Well I am now a believer. I am loving Peppermint and all it does for me.

It truly is invigorating.  I continue to use it after I exercise and also before. It opens my lungs so I take in more oxygen.  It also wakes me up in the morning.

Cypress made me sweat!

I know it sounds strange, but I don't perspire very much. It has been a problem all my life. I just can't cool myself. (That was before peppermint). Anyway I was riding my bike indoors. (I have a bike trainer, Its a thing that you hook your outside bike to so you can ride it indoors) I put Cypress on the bottom of my feet and all over my torso. Well after about 20 mins I was sweating and continued the whole hour. I was alot more than amazed, I was ecstatic. It was such a relief. I guess  you could call it a mini miracle.

Recipes Chocolate and Orange

I made the most yummy brownies.
1 box brownie mix -I used a store bought brownie mix and followed the directions. Except less oil.
10ish drops of orange oil.- I tasted the mix before adding in the eggs (yes with a clean spoon) Then I added in 3 more drops. You will have to taste.
I topped it off with PWD Sugar mixed with a few drops of orange oil.
Dusted brownies with pwd sugar
I used the mini muffin pan to bake them.

They were a hit. Everyone loved them. I loved them (just 2)
I usually make my own healthier version of brownies with applesauce.

Bed wetting

I have had my fair share of children wetting the bed. I learned from my friend Rindee (check out her oil blog)  how cypress could be used for bed wetting.  Cypress oil is used for its benefits on the urinary system.  So I started using it. I apply a few drops to the child's (name withheld) bladder area before bed and to the bottoms of the feet.  Well he hasn't wet the bed in 2 nights. I am going to need to use this method for a month at least to help this, but I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed. I will keep an update.
Cypress oil is also great for asthma, spasmodic coughs, influenza, cramps, scar tissue, reducing cellulite (cool huh!), energy, gallbladder, and much more.

What would you grab?

I love my oils, I can't believe I ever lived without them. I now have an amazing "tool box" to grab for the day to day incidentals, and the resources to learn from to find out how to help my family and friends with more serious problems.  I feel so blessed to have these.  As a mother in these last days it can get scary.  Health care is so expensive and most of the time you are back at square one.  These oils truly make my feel like I am more prepared for the future. I can treat bee-stings, cuts, pulled muscles, and a wide range of emotional stresses. Just to name a few.  I know that the medical world is so important and has its place, but I also know a mother and a father can really learn how to take care of their children with inspiration and studying. There is a saying, it goes like this..."I have a oil for that"....it is true. It is also kinda fun. Fun to know you have answers.  I urge all those who wonder if they work to open a bottle and use them. That is the trick. Just open that bottle and get your own story.

Knock out the Knot

I have a chronic knot in my neck. When it inflames and I get a headache that goes from my head all the way down my back on the right side. I have been in misery forever.  It is triggered by stress and a busy life. It often feels like a screw driver stuck in my neck.  I rub the Deep Blue into the knot and on my shoulder. (Sometimes down the muscle on my back if I have someone to apply it). I follow that with Peppermint. It really has an immediate effect.  The Deep Blue Blend has Wintergreen in it which gives it a cortisone-like property. It also contains Blue Tansy and other analgesic oils which means it is a substance which relives pain.  My Deep Blue has a smell that is truly calming to me.  I smell it just because all the time. Peppermint is in the oil blend, but I follow the Deep Blue with more peppermint because I want that strong cooling sensation that it gives me.  The combination of the two has been a life savor, because in the past I would of grabbed a ibuprofen and it wouldn't give me relief. Soooo Happy!

Sleeping Man

My husband said to me, "That Serenity is lethal".   He had a hard time sleeping before serenity. Now we are on our second bottle. I use it too. Put a couple drops in a little water and drink down. Also apply to feet. I love to put a drop in my hands to rub all over my face. It is awesome.
I have used it on my children when they are needing some calmning down. Yes, the serenity works....but I am sure the touching of their feet and holding them is the right medicine also. Thats what I love about oils, hands-on.
